Sylvie is a bilingual Social Worker who has worked in the Sudbury area for 25 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work in 1989, and her Master of Social Work in 1998, both through Laurentian University. Throughout her career, she has worked with many issues including children’s mental health, women’s health, individuals and families facing medical crisis. She pursed specialized training in Sex Therapy with the University of Guelph in 2003, and has since been working with individuals and couples on issues relating to sexual intimacy, sexual function or difficulties, aiming to support women and men in achieving their greatest well-being and the expression of a joyful healthy sexuality. Sylvie has been teaching at Laurentian University since 2004. She is also currently pursuing doctoral studies, focusing on understanding the effect of gynecological cancer on women’s sexuality.
